I hate that also when they don't give you the address, information or photo. When I see written ads in the newspaper with no address, I don't even call them and I'm a broker. True, I can look it up in the computer but I still don't like that. They want you to call the office so the agent can grab your phone number so she/he can help you shop and represent you. They do not want you to drive by the address, go "yech," and go look at another house and buy through another agent. I personally don't like this at all. I have always been a listing broker and ALWAYS gave everyone all the info, address and photos. I would tell them everything about the property. I hate it when people say "it has a great view" and you get there and there is no view unless you stand on the roof and tear down the house in front of you. People who do this just want buyer leads. I personally don't want to drive someone around and help them find a house. If they want my house, fine. If I happen to know of other houses that might fit their needs better, I'll show them those. Otherwise I was never into getting buyer leads. Of course as the market changes, it sometimes better to be a buyers agent than a sellers agent. I still feel that I'd rather control the inventory and have them come to me. To each his or her own.
