Dear Tony:

Pentium Pro started at 200 and ended at 1G or only 5x and it did go through 3 reworks and at least two additional processes and a few overclocks to get there. But, the original Pentium only went from 66 to 233 or 3.5x. The 486 went 4x (25 to 100 (DX4)) and the 386 went only 2x (16 to 33). And I am giving you the benefit of the doubt as the Pentium Pro to P2 rework lengthened the pipeline. IMO, P4 will be laid aside before getting to 10G and a new core will go there as Hammer will force 64 bit extensions to allow P4's successor cores to be competitive.

Users like competition. It makes both company's products better. Improve or die!
