This deal makes sense. These two companies are worth more together than apart.

Won't do anything for my portfolio though - I only own a small amount of ABSC and the weakness I am sure we will see today in VRTX (which I own more of) will doubtless offset the gain.

Note that ABSC was actually slightly profitable, largely because of interest from their large cash holdings.

I think Stefaan is right - time to come up with a new munch list. I'll get to work on it.
