Rambus and stockholder psychology

In my opinion RMBS is headed down, maybe as far as $ 5.00. My reasons are:

a. I do not believe the judge will reverse his Markman ruling
b. I do believe that based on a. Rambus cannot prevail in the current case for the lack of expert testimony – the only expert that then will have spoken is on the opposing side
c. The FUDsters will start spreading rumors like wildfire, claiming it’s all over and that all the semi’s will sue Rambus
d. IFX will continue their case against Rambus and Rambus becomes the defendant
e. The average investor does not understand Rambus and its potential on RDRAM alone – most act as sheep, following the loudest one in the flock (and I believe the FUDsters will be loud)

Then what happens? My predictions:

a. The stock tumbles to somewhere between $ 5-10 this week on record volume
b. Massive buying sets in at the end of the week or following week
c. Edelstone issues report on RDRAM potential alone
d. Samsung and Intel reports increased sales of RDRAM/P4
e. Rambus issues PR about appeal of the Markman ruling, new venue possible
f. News from the case pending in Germany
g. Stock goes to $ 25.00 by end of summer, $ 45 by year end

As a Rambus BULL for many years I am sadden by the current event(s) and really believe the Judge made a huge (and grounds for appeal) mistake in his Markman decision. My strategy on Sunday was to get out early Monday and then re-enter somewhere in the $ 5 - $ 10 range. Should the judge reverse his Markman ruling I would advise an immediate reentry into the stock since I believe this will win the case.

The stock will in the next weeks be driven by psychology, not calculated due diligence into the company, its business model, partners etc in my opinion.

My strategy is one taken to take advantage of the situation I believe will happen and then end up in a position with several times more shares than before (my anticipated) dramatic decline in the stock.

Looking forward 2-3 years I strongly believe this is $ 100 - 200 stock
