One of the basic elements required to be a long term investor is optimism. If you've lost that and feel we will continue the pattern of the last year, your best choice is not stocks, bonds, or even treasury notes. You should be putting your money into gold, guns, and canned goods. But I think WG was predicting reduced returns, not Armageddon.
