tradelite: addresses

It's actually office policies and not security that is the main issue. Certain brokers in my area NEVER list addresses. Others ALWAYS list addresses. We're dealing with the same homes here in Beverly Hills. They're all nice with nice things inside.

The burgulary argument is a little weak to me. In Beverly Hills 99% of all homes look good and have good things inside. Why not just rob any these homes? You don't need a for sale sign to get permission. If an owner were to say she doesn't want to show inside picks, fine. But anyone can see the outside any day just driving by. A for sale sign or ad doesn't make them more inviting to a robber unless they want to post as a buyer. We don't have too many buyer/robbers. Generally people prequalify and ask a lot of questions before they show a house here.

I have asked the companies that don't list addresses why and they just say office policy. They want to know who's looking at the houses and to make sure the phone people grab numbers. As a home buyer I hate that. I don't want a zillion agents calling me and I'm a broker. I like searching through computers on line all by myself. If there were a way to get all the mls together in one system with a public and private interface, that would be ideal for everyone. I would be for opening up the info. People will still need brokers so it doesn't hurt the business.
