The dominant Tech group is the Telecom sector. That group is likely going to face a double whammy.

a: The Service cos. are facng a profit squeeze and have cut back on capital expenditure.

b: The Eqpt Cos are facing a technology squeeze due to the development of Optronic crystals and band gap optical materials that lend themselves to automated production.

If the outlook in the Telcom sector does not improve, is it feasible for the tech earnings (2001) to show increases commensurate with the current prices of the Tech stocks.?

Thx.
