Here's a stupid comment.
From thetelecommanalyst.com
>> IUSACELL (CEL): Analysts at Merrill Lynch reduced their long-term rating on this Mexican wireless
provider to Accumulate from Buy on April 16. The firm's near-term opinion remains Accumulate. The
shares are not expected to move significantly before sentiment toward the global cellular sector
improves. The stock closed at $7.65 on April 26.

The analysts also lowered their 2001 EBITDA estimate to $239 million from $252 million and their
2002 EBITDA estimate to $281 million from $298 million. But projections for earnings per American
depositary receipt (EPADR) have also been narrowed to a loss of $0.48 for 2001 from a loss of
$0.62, based on better macroeconomic assumptions.

Iusacell needs to keep an eye out for competition from Verizon Communications (VZ) and
Vodafone (VOD), says the firm.
Both companies are strengthening their ties in Mexico and may
soon look to expand their presence through acquisitions. Alternatively, the analysts believe
Telefonica (TEF) is interested in Iusacell, because Telefonica has a presence in Mexico City. <<

Excuse me? Verizon and Vodafone own most of Iusacell. Verizon is the managing partner. Remind me to never take a Merrill Lynch analyst seriously.
