To see it at $5 (20 presplit?) would really be an amazing sight. I remember the day of the IPO and I don't think Rambus has ever traded south of about 25 since it opened for trading that day in 1997, and it shouldn't now either. From what I'm told by people I've consulted to review and comment as this has gone on, Markman ruling overturns are usually against the patent owner, not the infringers. Another negative. Also, I'm advised that the ruling was made without an over-reliance by the judge on expert testimony, which could have subjected it to a greater likelihood of reversal on appeal. I suppose there will be a huge overreaction to this turn of events and I'm sorry for whoever will get hurt.
