Article...TRAFFICKING: LIBERAL POISONS..

Trafficking in emotionalism that is built on outright lies is as reprehensible as trafficking in illegal drugs. Both are designed to subvert the thinking abilities of the American people and to profit the pushers.

The specific that most readily comes to mind is the ad sponsored by the Democratic National Committee to convey the idea of the Bush administration causing "more arsenic" in a child's water. The flat truth is, even the order ex-president Clinton signed would not have required reducing the level of arsenic in drinking water from 50 parts per billion (ppb) to 10 ppb until the year 2006. Clinton signed this a few days prior to leaving office, which means that for eight years (less three days) of his presidency, "harmful" levels of arsenic in water were of no concern to him, and the reduction was not to go into effect for another five years. That's 13 years of allegedly "harmful arsenic" but it isn't portrayed that way on television.

If arsenic in water had suddenly been discovered to be a national health hazard then it was up to Clinton to declare some state of emergency to take action then and there, but there was no such emergency. Emergency orders don't come in the form of "let's do this five years from now." Wouldn't that have gone over like a cloud of boulders in the wake of Hurricane Andrew?

The subversive appeal to emotionalism (notice, the Democrats nearly always use children to stir up the adrenalin glands) is not only misleading, but it is patently and discoverably untrue. If anyone with internet access goes to the map provided by the U.S. Geological Survey, it is evident that the red spots signifying 50 ppb or more are largely confined to the West, with New Mexico having one of the highest overall levels of arsenic in potable water and yet one of the lowest rates of cancer. Arsenic is an alleged carcinogen. There is most certainly good reason to continue to investigate the issue of what constitutes a safe level of arsenic, especially when we're talking about parts per billion.

So much for any bipartisanship on the issues. The Democrats are creating their own issues in various ways. The arsenic flap has been created to mislead a busy, commute-tired American working public by placing false information in ads designed to attack the Bush administration solely for the Democrats' political benefit, not for the benefit of the children! Children are merely another useful pawn in the Democrat/liberal strategy to gain seats in Congress in 2002, and to try to discredit the Bush administration by bringing emotionalism into focus rather than facts. (Remember, when Clinton needed a war, the "children" were the cause celebre for Monica's war in Serbia, and after the fact, the media had to admit their errors.)

Other errors are contained in ads about salmonella in school lunches and the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge. All of these are outright manufactured hype, lies, and belong in the trashbin of the politics of destruction. If anyone is not being bipartisan, it is Terry McAuliffe and the DNC! Ditto for the diehard Democrats like Tom Daschle, Dick Gephardt and their cronies. Oh yes ... and Hellary!

If a company rather than a political party were to resort to this type of attack it would be a justiciable issue in court, on grounds of misleading advertising, possible slander and libel, and possibly some racketeering charges.

Yet the DNC is not only continuing its attack using false claims, it has the backing of the liberal media, including NBC's Tim Russert, who stated that there was "nothing inaccurate" in the ad. Excuse me, Mr. Russert, you claim to be a journalist and don't know inaccuracies in front of your face when all the facts have been made plain in various other places? Arsenic is not poisoning our population. The DNC and the media are poisoning people's minds.

This administration intends to pursue an investigation of arsenic in water levels rather than rubber-stamp a last-minute Clinton decision that was made strictly to leave the Bush administration with a catch-22 problem that both the DNC and media could capitalize on, and capitalize they have.

That's dirty politics at its dirtiest. That kind of partisanship denies any inclination to be a loyal opposition. It is the politics of destruction at its lowest level. Clinton may be out of office; his legacy of radical environmentalism, globalism and race card hate tactics are alive, well and thriving. All you need to do is look at one of the major networks (other than Fox) to see the media bias. (And the media has its own lie ... "we're not biased." Sure. And I have this great big scenic canyon in northern Arizona, with its own river at the bottom, for sale real cheap.)

Unfortunately, most working Americans do not have time to go fetch facts, fix dinner and have quality time with the kids, so they catch the major news media and not the truth behind the news. These people love their kids and want quality time with them, and what do they get when they try to keep up with current events? Emotional hype and lies!

One of the best antidotes for this is to have the news alerts delivered email to your home or office computer. By obtaining reports from Media Research Corporation, NewsMax, WorldNetDaily and other online news reporting services, it is possible to get the facts behind the hype rather quickly.

Every concerned American should avail themselves of these sources, and I only named three off the top of my head. There are a number of such sources available. (Hint: skip the NY Times and the LA Times.)

Every family with access to the internet can have one parent playing ball or otherwise spending time with the kids for an hour while the other parent gets the news. After the kids are in bed, the really important issues of the day and the facts behind them should be investigated and discussed. Nothing keeps a nation free like an informed electorate.

Remember ... what you don't know can deceive you, harm you and undermine your country.
