John, maybe Ericy is like Nokia and they have a good market share in GSM but will go down the gurgler when the swarms of CDMA licensees go marauding through the market. So Ericy wants VW40 to slowly, slowly wend its way to market which gives Ericy a couple more years to make some good [10% market share] sales of GSM handsets. Meanwhile, Ericy will keep trying to get their CDMA infrastructure business and handsets up to scratch. Which is difficult for them compared with their GSM position. I'm not surprised they are promoting GSM in Latin America. Ericy has gone from [Lars Ramqvist] "We will deny them their request" [for CDMA] to "We will delay them their request". Mqurice PS: Lars booted out the guy who seemed to know what he was doing [and was civilized as well]. Now Lars has taken Ericy down to the bottom of the barrel [which is probably where hagfish feel comfortable anyway].
