Infonet Provides iVPN Solution for Crystal Decisions, Formerly Seagate Software's Sales Force biz.yahoo.com EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 2001-- Infonet Services Corp. (NYSE:IN - news; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, today announced that it will provide an Internet Virtual Private Network (iVPN) for Crystal Decisions, a leading provider of reporting, analysis and information delivery solutions.
Operating from 20 global locations ranging from Vancouver to Denver and Sydney to Singapore, Crystal Decisions needed to deliver a variety of applications and services to its remote and mobile sales force. The iVPN will form the communications backbone that enables the company to address its worldwide connectivity needs and the globalization of processes critical to its sales force.
Starting with locations in Vancouver, Canada, and London, Infonet's managed Internet-based solution will allow the information infrastructure company to enhance its service access, providing sales personnel with a better view of their client requirements and activities.
``Our sales organization requires worldwide access to our customer relationship management (CRM) and sales force automation (SFA) applications,'' stated Henry Wilsenack, Worldwide Telecom Manager for Crystal Decisions. ``Infonet's iVPN gives our sales people the global view they need to operate more effectively in a competitive environment. Infonet makes it as easy to do business in Vancouver as in Frankfurt or Sydney,'' he remarked.
Prior to implementing its iVPN with Infonet, Crystal Decisions relied on a dozen different communications carriers, both domestic and international. Growing and scaling its communications infrastructure to meet evolving needs, through so many divergent carriers, was difficult.
``Working with Infonet we now have a single source for global communications and can also more effectively manage our costs. Since we are a global business it is nice to deal with a company that is also globally focused,'' added Wilsenack.
``This announcement demonstrates Infonet Canada's ability to address the needs of multinational corporations. We are pleased to assist Crystal Decisions by managing their Internet services and providing a global iVPN for the company,'' concluded Kevin Landry, Vice President and General Manager Latin America, Canada and Government Services for Infonet.
