I have never seen a patent case get resolved by the courts in a year. I think QCOM's cases went on a long time as well. There is still a chance that the jury will get a chance to hear the 3 remaining claims and will come out against Infineon but given this judges predilection for deciding the case himself the odds are against it. There is also a chance albeit that the Judge will throw out most of the Infineon counter charges (which make no sense without infringement). Tinkershaw seems to think there are a lot of grounds for appeal. He is a lawyer (I am not). If there there is an appeal of the Markman apparently the issues are heard de novo . Rambus legal expenses should drop during the wait for a new ruling.
