I agree Hal. I believe it was about 8 or 9 months ago I offered up the question that if we don't start making money with our original content for the web, why can't we just lease it out to regular television? I think that thought was kind of shot down back then, since "traditional" TV isn't and wasn't the goal. My theory and thinking at the time was that the entire internet concept could have been a bit of a subterfuge, just to keep others from stealing the idea. Although, it seemed pretty obvious that anyone in the business would think about cross-marketing any original content, just to increase the inflow of cash in order to finance the project further. I'm also impressed that we have someone working for us now that was in the programming department over at Showtime. I love their ads between programs, Showtime "brands" itself in the most interesting way, as compared to HBO, Max, Starz, TMC, etc. Don't know who came up with the blue dogs (a blue dalmation at that- I think it's Showtime- hell, maybe it's Max), and the "no limits" slogan, makes it the hippest of the premium services, in terms of creating ads with punch, and at a tilt. Ampex appears to be morphing in an interesting direction, or perhaps a better choice of words might be slithering.Either way, things seem to be looking up a little more these past two weeks. al . |
