Chisy ------------------------------------------------------------ Electric Fuel Corp. Announces New Battery Pricing Instant Power(TM) Cellphone Batteries to Retail for Under $10
NEW YORK, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Electric Fuel Corporation (Nasdaq: EFCX) today announced a major price reduction for its INSTANT POWER(TM) line of disposable cellphone batteries, lowering the MSRP to $9.95.
The Company said that the price cut was enabled by improved efficiencies achieved through the full operation of its automated production line.
Electric Fuel produces INSTANT POWER(TM) batteries for popular cellphone models from Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson and Samsung. The high-capacity 3300 mAh batteries provide a convenient back-up power source that gives up to 16 hours of talk time, or 3 weeks of standby time.
Electric Fuel previously announced a suggested retail price of $9.95 for Power Cartridges for its line of INSTANT POWER(TM) Chargers for cellphones and PDA's. The new battery price gives consumers and businesspeople their choice of INSTANT POWER(TM) solutions for the same low price.
Yehuda Harats, Electric Fuel president and CEO, said, "I am pleased that we have been able to reach our often-stated short-term goal of offering INSTANT POWER(TM) batteries and charger cartridges for under $10. We are committed to a policy of lowering prices as an important element in our strategy of increasing sales and making INSTANT POWER(TM) batteries and chargers a mass market product line."
