Gordon,

Kids generally hate the best teachers at the beginning of the school year, and love them at the end. Giving the kids a vote is very dangerous, because discipline is not an easy pill to swallow for most children.

Teachers should be evaluated long term on the success of their students, and not by any short-term emotional standard.
