Andreas, on P4 current and power consumption, if you look carefully at the Intel documents, the 50 amps of current are not specified at 1.75v but at about Vcc_mid, which is less than 1.75. If the Vcc were momentarily raised to 1.75, the current consumption would be more than 50 amps.

Processor Voltage Current Power consumption max (typical)

1.7 GHz P4 Vcc_mid 50.2A <83.6W (64.0W)
1.3 GHz P4 Vcc_mid 39.8A <67.1W (51.6W)
1.3 GHz Athlon 1.75V 39.0A 68.0W (61.0W)
