Greatly improved air access to Ndola on Copperbelt

SOUTH African Airways (SAA), Zambia Skyways and South African Airlink will soon start scheduled services on the Ndola -Johannesburg and Livingstone -Johannesburg route, the Zambia Daily mail reports.
And South African Airways has applauded the joint venture which becomes effective on May 13, 2001 saying it will create employment for some Zambians and also contribute to the improvement of air transport services.

SAA regional manager for Zambia Charles Nyakabau said that all the partners will get equal shares of the profits.

The three partners at a briefing in Lusaka over the weekend said that the new services will be operated by South African Airlink's new 37- seater Brazilian Embraer jet aircraft in an all economy Class service.

Mr Nyakabau said Ndola route will be served by two return flights per day on weekdays and one return flight on Saturdays and Sundays.

Livingstone will have a return flight on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and the full details on the flight schedules and fares are now available in reservation systems.
