Well, really. The 'death care industry.'
Having investigated coupla companies in it, though, one appears bankrupt (it is ... reorganizing, etc) ... that would be the Canadian Loewen Group (LWN-TO ticker).
I owned the stock 'way back in '96 on reco of first full-service broker then who set up my original accounts. Was very diversified, and we hit a few great big ones within six months ... one was a large (largest in U.S. at least at the time) tow truck wholesaler <g>. Was a four-bagger within couple of months.
Anyway, another one is SRV (NYSE).
I'm probably going to work for them part-time as outside sales rep. (Donnie will love it -- fits my 'pessimistic' personality, right, big V? -g-) Money's damned good ... captive <g> market ... limited competition ... quite fascinating, in terms of sales techniques, prospecting, etc ... demographics, gender i.e. purchase making decisions, motives = money and love, or money vs love, or love and no money, or ... Find the grandmothers for the best sales -- they want plots (I know there's a PC term for this) -- big-a**ed stones for everyone so that they all 'sleep together' ... kids, grandkids, etc, etc, etc ... I'm starting training with a four-hour session Friday ... LOL!
As of just today, I figured out a strategy so that my free-lance tech PR biz may be able to weather tech demise -- maybe not, fer sure -- but they need some positive news for their distribution channels .. and I'm 'the man,' okay? Know it better than anyone else.
Deposited profit check from house sale closing in MM this p.m. where it will stay ... hint, hint ... remember what I wrote you last summer?
I need to put together living expenses for two years and I'm out. (Not in a pine box, hopefully!) Out of the market. With financial independence.
I daytraded VRSN for a couple of grand within an hour today -- was fun -- WOW, maybe Donnie isn't always full of s**t -- just most of the time -- eh?
