I heard about someone at the office today who lost 97% of his portfolio. He went from having a portfolio in the mid-6 figure range to the mid-4 figure range in one year. He even showed the interviewer scares his wife gave him when she found out.

PS: I was told about this because the interviewer did not own stock herself and thought the story much too far-fetched. I explained it wasn't at all depending on his investment strategy.
