DJ Novellus Chairman/CEO, Exec VP File To Sell 450,000 Shrs


WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Novellus Systems Inc. (NVLS) Chairman and Chief
Executive Richard S. Hill and Executive Vice President John Chenault filed
to sell a total of 450,000 shares of the company's common stock, according
to three Form 144s released Tuesday by the Securities and Exchange
Commission.
Hill listed April 26 as the approximate date for the sale of 200,000 shares,
valued at about $10.2 million, and April 27 as the approximate date for the
sale of an additional 150,000 shares, valued at about $7.9 million. He
listed Chase H&Q as the broker for the sales.
Chenault filed to sell 100,000 shares, valued at about $5.3 million, listing
April 26 as the approximate sale date and Chase H&Q as the broker.
Based in San Jose, Calif., Novellus Systems makes, markets and services
advanced systems used to deposit thin conductive and insulating films on
semiconductor devices, as well as equipment for preparing the device surface
for these deposition processes.
The company's stock closed Tuesday at $55.48 a share, down 33 cents, or
0.6%.
A Form 144 allows for the sale of restricted stock, but it isn't a
commitment to sell.
