I don't want to know why you happen to have a personal excavator.

I think I will probably bite the bullet and borrow a friend's roto-tiller on Saturday, chorn the whole thing into fresh dirt and try a "tall fescue" [sp?], which I have been told can stand up to whatever is thrown at it.
