Good observation - and you can add Materials Science majors as well. [Then throw in MEs and EEs and whatever for equipment engineers.]

Wafer fab processes are materials oriented and involve chemicals, plasma processing, oxidation, diffusion, ion implantation - these are areas covered by Chem. E and Materials Science.

EEs are useful for actual circuit design and verification and testing.
