Shop At Home, Inc. Goes Live on BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 6.0 Leading TV Shopping Network Turns On the Power of BroadVision's Next-Generation Application Platform REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 2001-- BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN - news), a leading provider of personalized e-business applications, today announced that TV shopping network Shop At Home, Inc. (Nasdaq:SATH - news) is the first customer to go live on BroadVision One-To-One® Enterprise 6.0, the next generation of BroadVision's advanced, scalable e-business application platform.
As part of the relaunch of Shop At Home's online presence, the company introduced a new URL, www.shopathometv.com, updated the site's look and feel with improved navigation features and upgraded to BroadVision's new J2EE enabled application platform. The Shop At Home Network reaches over 61 million unique cable and satellite households and owns five full power television stations.
In minimal time, Shop At Home was able to upgrade their previous site, based on version 4.1 of BroadVision's software to the BroadVision Retail Commerce(TM) application running on BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 6.0.
``The upgrade from version 4.1 to 6.0 was very smooth. The majority of this effort was in moving from BroadVision Retail Commerce version 4.1 to 5.5. Once our site was using BroadVision Retail Commerce 5.5 it was trivial to move to One-To-One Enterprise 6.0,'' said Bob Miller, vice president of information technology for Shop At Home. ``We're impressed with the speed and stability of BroadVision's 6.0 software. It allows us to deliver a wide variety of innovative features, including the ability to offer limited-duration specials on the web site. For example, our on-air talent could offer a special price on a featured item for customers who visit the web site during a ten-minute time period. The site could then be modified in real time to display that offer and handle transactions at the special price.''
``By adopting BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 6.0, we believe Shop At Home will realize significant performance gains as well as the ability to extend their site using J2EE technologies,'' said Chris Grejtak, chief marketing officer for BroadVision. |
