Informix Software and Baan Extend Reseller Agreement

MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA and BARNEVELD,
NETHERLANDS--MAY 2, 2001 - 09:01 EDT

Baan to Resell High Performance Informix Dynamic Server Worldwide,
IDS to Provide Powerful Platform to Support New iBaan
Internet-Enabled Suite

Informix(R) Software, the database company(TM), a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Informix Corporation (Nasdaq:IFMX), and Baan, a
global leader in enterprise business solutions, today announced an
extension of their worldwide reseller agreement.

Baan will resell licenses for Informix Dynamic Server(TM) (IDS), a
high-performance online transaction processing database that
provides the reliability, scalability and availability necessary
for large transaction-processing systems and can support thousands
of users. IDS will provide Baan users worldwide with a powerful
platform to support the new generation iBaan suite of
Internet-enabled solutions.

The new agreement builds on the companies' successful five-year
relationship, as Baan and Informix Software have approximately 800
joint installations running on UNIX and Windows NT worldwide. In
addition to user licenses, Baan will also offer Informix
Software's IDS product maintenance services to its customers in
the first year.

"Informix Software and Baan have had a mutually productive
relationship for years, and the extension of our worldwide
reseller agreement will extend our history of collaborative
success and customer satisfaction," said Brian Staff, vice
president of marketing, Informix Software. "Informix Dynamic
Server has proven itself to be a highly reliable and scalable OLTP
engine with thousands of customers around the world, and will
strongly complement iBaan."

The new iBaan suite of Internet-enabled collaboration solutions
addresses manufacturers' growing demands for tighter integration
and full visibility across their supply chains. The suite combines
proven Baan technology with important new developments that enable
customers to take significant steps towards the seamless
integration of systems and processes, provide end-users with
personalized and easy-to-use information, and empower businesses
to collaborate with their customers and suppliers over the
Internet.

"Rettig chose Baan and Informix Software based, in part, on their
impressive track record of working together to deliver customers
industry-leading technology and business solutions that maximize
each other's strengths," said Hans Steenbreker, program manager at
Rettig, a Finnish family-held industrial company and a major joint
customer of Baan and Informix Software. "The extension of this
partnership ensures that customers around the world can continue
to count on their joint innovation to address their most demanding
business challenges."

"Informix Software has long been one of our valued alliances, and
has consistently delivered superior database platforms that allow
our customers to make the most of iBaan solutions," said Leen van
der Maas, vice president of global alliances at Baan. "Together,
Baan and Informix Software are helping hundreds of companies meet
their business needs and strengthen their competitive advantages."
