So, what was *that* all about?!?

Intel was down about $2 most of the day, and when it got pretty late in the day, I called my broker to sell my July130 puts at a limit price halfway between the bid and the ask. No sooner had I placed the order than Intel starting going up quite quickly. Called minutes later and canceled. It ran away.

My calls (I've got more of them than I do puts) went up more than my puts, but I really expected to close out the puts today and ride the calls back up, even using the proceeds from the puts to buy more calls.

Why'd INTC do such a rapid turn-around today? It wasn't the supercomputer news, was it? I couldn't see anything else out there to suddenly turn all the bears into bulls.
