Paul, Terry or anyone:

Can you provide some insight or references to research regarding 52 week highs vs. all time highs (if there are any)? I mean, is a 52 week high *that* significant as opposed to a all time high, and what are some of the parameters (time lag, % close to the move, etc.)

I am looking at your comment about a 52 week high on the DOW, yet what if it is not the all time high? I am curious since the NAZ/DOW stocks will be up against 52 week highs again, but all time highs could be years away (or never for some -ggg-). Is 52 week the more common technical indicator and does it carry the highest significance? Or is it just the easiest to calculate? -gg-

Sorry for the long question, please feel free to respond after market. If you can point to any resources, I would be happy to dig through it. TIA,
