dawg, it's really dependent on who you ask, or what book you go by.

Since you asked me...<g>

A 52wk high is significant, and an all time high is usually MORE significant is the way I would say it. If you had waited for a new all time high for confirmations in the 1970's, you would have waited a verrrrry long time to make a play. OTOH, in the 80's and 90's, all time highs were the best confirmations.

A non-trending market will rarely produce new all time highs, and when it does, it should usually be sold.
