Turn dates are based on fibonacci timing on a variety of time scales. For example, You can start at the exact moment of the all time high for the S&P. Use 15 minute, hourly, daily, and weekly time scales and go forward. Mark a hit for each fibonacci number, thus from the top and using a daily cycle you would mark a hit every 5 days, 8 days, 13 days, 21 days, 34 days, etc. hits will accumulate and they tend to cluster on future dates. Combine this with other time scales and you get hit clusters that pretty accurately mark a change in trend if the hit count is abnormally higher than normal.
