Wow, Chip, I was wondering the exact same thing, I think da cheif's explanation is reasonable... da cheif's explanation, I think, would imply a global economic recover which would propel equity markets to significantly greater heights... this is a great thread.....<g> still, if gold rallies with a strong U.S. Dollar, then it may not rally as much via other currencies... and if it rallies because of a weaker U.S. Dollar, then it may not rally much in Swiss Francs or some other currency translation... it will be interesting to watch and see how gold pans out... (ouch, no pun here please).....
