Most people are part liberal, part conservative and part inbetween. Depends on the issue. Unfortunately the word has been used to death by the right-wing as a means of somehow brand some as un-American, weak or unmanly. It's one of those buzz words which really doesn't mean much anymore but you still hear once in awhile. Probably boils down to a socialistic branding. Large social programs for the poor and civil rights for minorities. Many of those programs and rights however would be things even right-wingers would not want to touch. At extreme points it involves things like gay marriage, which I'm not for, so at the ectreme end of things I guess it's still a useable term. But what about being liberal about allowing guns, polluting and de-regulating business to the point where cheating is easy? Dangerous things some of those "liberal" programs.
