john lacelle: earthlink guy The guy who founded earthlink is not the bad guy. He was taken in the scam and now has to file bankruptcy. Front page latimes.com The earthlink guy invested his personal money in the ponzi scheme. I think the ponzi guy stole 300M. You would think the earthlink guy would have known better. It just goes to show you, anyone can get taken. I almost lost my first two commission checks to the Executive Life scandal. I tried for weeks and weeks to get my money out before they went under and they gave me excuse after excuse. I finally got my money out, 16 years later. Some people lost it all so I should feel lucky. It was an A rated institution at the time. I also lost maybe 1K in a car insurance scam. I got car insurance from this big well known broker. He was on the radio, had huge offices and offered good rates. Why? Because I paid for insurance but didn't get any! Thank god I didn't have an accident that year. I only found out when I went to renew my annual insurance and they were gone. So many scams out there.
