Two interesting mails from lurkers

I received two interesting mails from lurkers at SI.

The first one reads as follows:

"I've been wondering why people think we need a new fab. Don't they realize that when Dresden is converted to 130 nanometers it will almost double production? It's almost as if AMD is building a new fab by doing that. Doubling Athlon production in a year and a half or so seems fine to me and is easily sufficient to raise market share over the 30% target."

The second mail is from a well known contributor to Ace's and JC's message boards. It points to the following quote in the article "AMD 760MP - Dualies Delight" on Tom's Hardware Guide: www6.tomshardware.com

"In fact, as AMD moves up to a 400MHz FSB, it can achieve a 6.4 GB/s throughput on memory, and I have a feeling that they will be there this year."

Any thoughts?
