He was a fund manager at one time, don't remember the firm but it was bought and he was asked to stay on for some length of time, after which he bailed. His specialty was buying 'out of favor' firms and leaning on management (or pushing to replace existing management) to improve share returns. A feared guy a couple years back with lots of clout as I recall.
