Different artist, actually...similar style though...ballads that tell great stories....I like them both. Croce did die earlier than Chapin....I am guessing it was 1973 or 1974....maybe 1975....in a plane crash I think.....whereas Chapin died in '81 in a car crash..... EDIT: timeinabottle.com Croce died September 20, 1973
