I have been following this stock for the past few months. I am very bullish about this company. This is actually the second "M&A" of Gemstar in the past one year. The first one was "Video Guide" in Dec. of 1996. There has been quite a bit of restructuring in these companies after the mergers in the past few months. Here are a few links that you might want to follow up on... biz.yahoo.com vgi.com The big positives to these two acquisitions are that the online tv guide market has one standard. There is no direct competition in this arena. In addition these companies have pooled their patents and have an impressive portfolio(a consideration for would-be-web-tv- tvguide contenders). These companies have also dropped the lawsuits they had against each other. I see good things happening here in the near future. regards...
