Just my opinion.

I absolutely do not think this will have anything to do with a stock split. There are a ton of stocks trading at under a dollar on the Amex, and while it is within their authority to suggest a stock split, they take into account market conditions etc. A reverse split for AXC would be insane at this moment, specifically because present trading prices are primarily reflective of market bankruptcy fears and the price would migrate to this level eventually regardless of any split UNTIL those fears are dispersed.

What prompted the AMEX move is almost certainly the bridge loan coming due very soon, and the continuing operations caution in the K + possibly the fact that the Chairman's letter heavily implied the ADS sale was not going to come off anytime soon. They need to reassure the AMEX about their ability to meet obligations and continue in their business. If they cannot do that ( and I would guess they can do that), then we will have a hell of a lot more to worry about than just delisting. This could, if done quickly, actually work to our benefit. If the AMEX declares all is ok, fear will drop sharply. If it drags on and on it will remain a negative.
