Dale: Even the most optimistic projections for copper interconnects was a 20% increase in speed grade. It appears that a 1.467 GHz TBird could be shipped from Fab30. Even assuming a 20% speed grade boost for copper interconnects this would indicate that AMD could ship at least 1.2 GHz TBirds from Fab25.

That's an oversimplification ;-)

The Dresden process is entirely different from the Austin process. For example, gate lengths are much smaller.

Non-copper differences between the processes would probably contribute significantly to the superiority of the .18&#181 Cu process.

FYI: Your estimate on Fab30 wafer outs was very good (not sure if "wafer outs" is the correct technical term - probably not - but hopefully understandable). Jerry said 50% at the shareholders' meeting.
