Steven,

Before we fall head over heals with this one we should remember a few things.
This whole Human Genome stuff is way over blown. Just because you know
the sequence of the human genome does not mean you can cure every disease
known to man (despite some of the bizarre claims by some in the industry).
Currently, it takes about 100 million dollars to bring a drug to market. This
process can take a decade. I'll give you an example. For over 10 years we
have known the structure of HIV reverse transcriptase. The HIV virus needs
this enzyme to infect a human cell. Yet even though we know the sequence,
we know the structure of the protein, and even though this is public information
that would be worth billions of dollars to anyone who can create a drug that
inhibits or destroys HIV reverse transcriptase, nobody has been able to do this.
Its not such an easy thing to go from gene => drug => cure.

I think that HGSI is a *highly* speculative company.
