Microsoft is not arguing against the sharing or giving away of code, but rather against the GPL, which is intended to turn shared code into a weapon against the interests of legitimate software businesses and even the programmers who wrote it.

That's just plain silly. Silly with big clown shoes.

Programmers who write code under GPL aren't attacked by GPL.

They know what GPL is, and they agree to it. They like it. They don't want to be paid for work that they contribute to GPL. How is that being attacked?

Mundie's argument for Microsoft is just as silly. His logic could be applied to condemn volunteers at the local shelter and people who help each other from time to time just to be nice.
