Leftists said the same thing about Star Wars 15 years ago. About the deployment of Trident Missiles, about the minuteman program, the B2 and every other military defensive system we've dreamed up, well before the fall of the Berlin Wall and destruction of the Soviet threat across vast areas of Eastern Europe.

Your coddling leftist attitude has never work, and probably never will. Peace-through-strength is the only sensible strategic plan we have. And we demonstrate plenty of strength by putting in place a nuclear shield which says to any nut-case "we will protect our democracy and freedom even at a large financial cost".

Try explaining your utopian view of the world to millions of Americans who would die in the event a freak gets hold of one nuclear missile and launches it against our country 20 years from now.
