That is interesting. And sure doesn't feel right for the advertiser. A person only needs 4 out of about 12 symptoms to be diagnosed for SLE. Fatigue is one. Can't imagine what the commercial called out as "if you have these symptoms." (There are some urine/serum diagnostics to be sure.)

I've been learning about sle recently. What a conundrum. Did you know that there are +-40 identifiable autoantibodies associated with SLE? dsDNA is one marker...or byproduct...or autoantigen. Early stage acute phase is marked by renal disease, late stage by heart disease.

I haven't looked into the late stage complement associations (fascinating, since progress is marked by C3, C4 depletion), but I am becoming confident there will be no truly effective competition before anti-C5 has a chance to prove itself in lupus-associated renal nephritis. And.... ctla4ig looks huge, down the road.
