Yaacov: I read in a paper that AMD could be up for sales and their loan will be down graded? Any truth to that?

ROFL

*cough*

Loan downgraded? Unless AMD stock drops rather sharply next week, AMD will force the conversion of bonds representing 1/3 of their long term debt - the other 2/3s being under extremely favorable conditions with the Saxony (Germany) government (part of the package that convinced AMD to build their most recent fab in Dresden). Thus, it is far more likely that AMD will soon have its credit rating upgraded (but this is pure speculation on my part - I know little about credit rating matters).

Is AMD up for sale? Well, I guess all companies with >50% floated are, in a sense, up for sale. In other words, I'm not quite sure what you mean... If you are speculating if AMD is a likely take-over candidate, that may be, but I seriously doubt a credible attempt could be launched. AMD has quite a bit of cash on hand with which to defend itself.
