Intel was on its last legs as a semiconductor company until

IBM chose Intel for PC.

One PRECONDITION was a SECOND SOURCE as well as IBM manufacturing rights.

Motorola didn;t go along with that 68000 lost design in.

Once Intel won the x 86 they lived up to the agreement for a while.

And then screwed AMD.

Intel was the ingrate.

They had a deal and chose not to live up to it.

They have profited handsomely from not living up to the deal.

This is basic reason for bad feeling between AMD/Intel.

Prior to that they had very friendly relations.
