Gao,

In 1987 Reagan recognized the multiplier effect danger of a falling stock market, and talked the market back up quickly.

Quite a contrast to Bush/Cheney who talked the market down for political purposes.

Even so, the economy is quite strong and the stock market is on it's way back up.
