It was incredibly freeing.
Nothing makes me feel as righteous as carting a bunch of stuff out of my house and depositing it at the curb.
I would be interested in how others deal with organizing the plethora of computing information, and how they deal with their folders, etc. Most of it should probably just be thrown out!
No, most of it shouldn't be collected in the first place, but it's hard to resist. The first time I ever culled my considerable book collection was very painful, but it's been easier since the first time. I collect a fair amount of stuff on my computer. I save everything in clip files using ClipMate. First of all, it's much quicker to just do a highlight and copy than to name and save a file. Then, all the clips are right there to just browse through. I can't imagine cyberlife without this tool. It takes all kinds of formats, even a screen copy, and I use if for bookmarks, too, since it saves the URL from which it's clipped. If you don't use a clip manager, you might want to give it a try.
