Rich, you need to install same funny and buggy Mac-derived Japanese fonts for the Adobe Acrobat to see the Arabic digits... The Japanese Web pages are notoriously unreliable and standard-less, Sony's not being an exception. Instead of some standard Times Roman or Arial, they created the page on a Mac using RodinPlus-DB-Identity-H numerical fonts. Rather thoughtless, I must say.

Sony is not a licensee, they are *the* pioneer of the Li-ion technology and would probably sooner commit sepuku than license somebody else's technology. Theirs is a glued microporous separator technology, similar to Motorola's, now sold to PolyStor. Bellcore's is a plasticized (and bonded) separator technology and is an animal with rather different spots. But I'm waiting to see what comes out, if anything, out of Schaumburg, IL (or Plantation, FL or Dublin, CA).
