This is the new blade architecture we've been reading about that could revolutionize server packaging architecture. It might even "churn" existing tower and rack server models essentially out of existence in a few years, at least at the big web user customers. Notice that the two companies that are mentioned as the processor vendors are Intel and Transmeta. Isn't there another X86 vendor that wants to get into servers? I guess maybe their GHz/Watts ratio is just too low.

It will be interesting to see if these startup companies like RLX are correct in going with TMTA. Will they get enough processing power out of the Transmeta chips? No matter how low their power, they still sit on a "blade" type of CPU board, just like an Intel chip will, and take up as much space as an Intel CPU blade. TMTA has already gotten further than Rise did, but could still go back to a Rise fate if they can't keep up in processing power. Meanwhile, AMD comes up sucking hind you-know-what in the new server architecture.
