<<I've fished many times in a place frequented by humpback whales. There might be 150 boats there at the same time, all placidly fishing. The humpbacks take no notice, and they come back year after year. >>

If you're fishing and the whales show up I have no problem. It's the econutz that ram them with their Zodiaks when they are trying to breed or migrate so they can "touch, or interact, with the whale" that steams me. "I touched a whale, I'm going to save the world.".

While I'm in the pissed mode, Japan is still killing whales. Under the treaty, whales can only be killed for scientific study. Japan was studying what the blubber would sell for.

I thought it was real neat when Alaskans were trying to save the 3 gray whales and the Russians moved in to help.
