Paul - Stimac was actually happy about the 386 bug - getting around that with the early chips was what enabled him to bring out Compaq's 386 ahead of Intel. But he certainly regarded Intel as a mixed blessing. You missed the biggest Stimac post Compaq move - he went on the Tandem board and it was only a matter of months before Compaq was talking about an acquisition. And of course they actually did it...
